Melissa says this...
Prior to my daughter being born, I didn't think I had a crafty bone in my body. That changed when we learned how to make fabric rosettes at a MOPS meeting last spring. I became addicted and started making rosette clips and headbands for myself and my daughter. One day last summer I had the idea to make a necklace with the rosettes (I'm sure I saw them on Etsy or something!). I loved the first necklace I created and wore it all the time. I made a few more for myself and received so many compliments that I decided to try selling them. I opened my Etsy shop in September 2011. I also participated in a small craft open house last fall. This spring I began making vintage style baby headbands, per the request of a photographer friend who wanted them for photo props. My business is still pretty small, but eventually I would love to be able to have the time and resources to develop an inventory so I can do craft shows and have ready to ship items for my customers. I would love to see this business grow to a point that it helps my family financially. Some goals I have include adding new accessories and home decor items to the shop this year and to start holding fundraiser sales and auctions to support local ministries and adoptive families.
